    HOW LONG

    Rehearsed once. Moved once.

A typical plan. Order history and integrations move it.

    01
    Week 1

    Audit

Every data type, plugin, custom feature and URL on the current store, mapped to where it lands in Shopify.

    02
    Weeks 1–2

    Test migration

A full run into the new store behind a password. Counts compared with the old store, record by record where they differ.

    03
    Weeks 2–3

    Store setup

Theme, payments, shipping, taxes and apps configured. Redirect list written and tested.

    04
    One window

    Cutover

In the lowest-traffic hours: orders and customers since the test run brought across, then the domain pointed at Shopify.

    05
    48 hours, then 14 days

    QA and monitoring

Every page, product and checkout path checked for 48 hours. Rankings, crawl errors and redirects watched after that.

    IF IT GOES WRONG

    The old store stays open.

Until the new one has passed every check.

    01

    A test run first

The whole migration is run once into a password-protected store. Problems show up there, not in front of customers.

    02

    Counts reconciled

Products, variants, customers and orders are counted on both sides. The numbers have to match before cutover.

    03

    A way back

The old store is not switched off at cutover. Pointing the domain back is one DNS change while a fix is made.

    04

    30 days of watching

Rankings, crawl errors and 404s are checked after launch, 14 days on the Starter package and 30 on larger plans. Missed redirects are added.

    05

    Accounts in your name

The Shopify store, the domain and the payment gateway belong to your business from the first day.

    06

    Scope in writing

The migration plan lists what moves, what is replaced and what stays behind. A change is priced before it is made.

    WHO IT'S FOR

Outgrown the platform. Not the store.

If the second list sounds closer, another service is the better start.

    A migration fits

    • 01
      A WooCommerce store

Plugin updates, hosting and security patches handed to Shopify, with the catalogue and orders intact.

    • 02
      A Squarespace or Wix shop

A site that began as pages and now sells enough to need inventory, couriers and one-click checkout.

    • 03
      A Magento or BigCommerce store

A large catalogue and a hosting bill, moved to a platform a small team can run.

    • 04
      A custom-built store

Data held in your own database, mapped field by field through Shopify's import tools and API.

    Look elsewhere first

    • 01
The store is already on Shopify

Nothing needs moving. Complete Redesigns rebuilds the theme where the store stands.

    • 02
      There is no store yet

Shopify Theme Development covers a first store: ₹50,000 for up to 25 products with a theme.

    • 03
      The move is to headless

The data moves the same way. The storefront is scoped on the Headless Shopify Development page.

    STANDARDS YOU CAN CHECK

    Counted and crawled. On paper.

Each check is run before cutover and again after it.

    01

    Counts that match

A reconciliation sheet: products, variants, customers and orders on the old platform and on Shopify, side by side.

    02

    Every old URL answers

Each address from the crawl returns a 301 to a live page in one hop. No chains, no 404s.

    03

    Meta data carried

Title, description and alt text on the new page match the old one unless the plan says otherwise.

    04

    Search Console set up

Domain verified, new sitemap submitted, and coverage checked weekly after launch.

    05

    Orders tested end to end

A test order through every payment method, including a refund, before the domain moves.

    06

    A plan you can read

What moved, what was replaced, what was left behind and why, in one document.

    MOVED TO SHOPIFY

    Two stores. Both moved.

Each case file shows the theme, the checkout and the apps.

    BEFORE YOU BRIEF

What founders ask before a move.

No. The old store keeps selling while the Shopify store is built and checked behind a password. Cutover happens in your lowest-traffic hours: orders placed since the test run are brought across, then the domain is pointed at Shopify. Shoppers see the old store until the moment they see the new one.
Historical orders are imported into Shopify and matched to each customer by email. A customer who signs in on the new store sees their past orders.
Shopify uses its own URL structure, so most addresses change. Every old URL is listed from a crawl of the current site and given a 1:1 301 redirect. Titles, meta descriptions and structured data are carried over, the new sitemap is submitted in Google Search Console, and rankings and crawl errors are watched for 14 days, or 30 on larger plans, so any shift is caught early.
Passwords cannot be exported from any platform in readable form. Customer accounts come across with their email, addresses and orders. On Shopify's customer accounts, people sign in with a one-time code sent to their email, so there is nothing to reset.
Two to four weeks, depending on the catalogue, the number of integrations and how much custom behaviour the old store has.
WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, Squarespace, Wix and custom-built stores. If the platform can export its data, or has an API, the data can be mapped.
The audit lists every plugin and custom feature on the old store. Each one is matched to a Shopify feature or an app, or marked as not needed. You see that list in the migration plan before anything moves.
A migration carries the current brand onto a Shopify theme: logo, colours, menus and page structure. A new design is a separate piece of work, and the two are often scoped together. The Cinnamon Kitchen moved from WooCommerce and was redesigned mobile-first in one project.
Platform migrations start at ₹30,000, quoted in writing after the first call. That base package moves up to 300 products, their customers and the last 12 months of orders, with redirects, one full test migration, cutover and 14 days of monitoring. A larger catalogue, older orders, reviews, gift cards and integrations are quoted in writing above that. Once the store is live, monthly maintenance starts at ₹10,000 a month.

    Same customers.
