THE FOUNDER
Erava Coffee
Jordan, a sustainable textile designer who worked on regenerative organic cotton projects in Turkey, India, the United States and South America, and Vera, a fashion designer and founder of Sorelle Era, wanted something calmer than fashion. When they studied coffee, they saw the same pressures on farms they had seen in cotton. They started Erava to roast coffee from regenerative farms, in Rome.

Tasting notes on the card
Every coffee card lists its flavour notes and acidity, such as jasmine blossom, white peach, golden honey, before a shopper opens the page.

Size and grind up front
Cards offer 150 g, 250 g or 1,000 g and a grind for espresso, moka, filter or French press, so the bag arrives ready for the shopper's machine.

The subscription, in dates
The subscription page gives the sign-up cutoff, the 24th, the ship day, the last Friday of the month, and names the one coffee left out.

Research, cited
The about page links the meta-analyses behind its farming choices, with journal names and years, followed by a reading and watching list.
